Program Description: This seminar is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the statutory remedies available to cure common title defects associated with oil and gas production. First, the seminar will focus on the Ohio Marketable Title Act and Ohio Dormant Mineral Act, including their respective history, purpose, and application. Attendees will learn how to apply these statutes to real life fact situations, including best practices, and how to avoid common issues. Next, the seminar will focus on other remedies available to resolve title defects such as the Non-Judicial Forfeiture of Oil & Gas Leases statute. Finally, the seminar will discuss the interpretation and validity of terms and conditions commonly found in Ohio oil and gas leases.
